Our assessment centre has a showroom containing a wide range of specialist products including Beds, Chairs, Bathing Products, etc.  To the best of our knowledge, we have the largest display of Bariatric products in the UK.

The showroom is fitted with a large ceiling hoist giving access to all areas.  OTs are welcome to bring clients to the showroom for assessment or product appraisal.

We are happy to carry out joint assessments throughout the UK for most of our Bariatric products or you can visit our Harlow assessment centre to view the full range of Bariatric Products.

Free parking is available immediately outside the showroom, with level wheelchair access, and we are open 7 days a week, by appointment

The Bariatric Air Support Mattress from Wheelchairs of Kansas is a complete mattress replacement system. Circulating 100 litres of air per minute creates a “true low-air-loss system”. The 3-in-1 alternation mode offers stability to the bariatric individual as every third air cell deflates for pressure relieving therapy. The air cells rest on a 2” covered foam safety pad for added client protection during power outage. The digital technology of the control unit allows one-button changes of alternation cycle, pressure settings and operating modes.

The Pressure Reduction Mattress is an optional foam mattress offered to complement Wheelchairs of Kansas beds. You can upgrade to this mattress for pressure reduction therapy for your bariatric client. The foam mattress is constructed of three layers of foam and tested to be antimicrobial and fluid resistant.

The Mighty Rest Rehab Bed offers superior performance for bariatric individuals weighing up to 71 stone 454kg.  This bed is available in semi and full electric models with multiple functions for the head and foot sections as well as bed height adjustability.  It comes in 4 width sizes and an extra-tall length.Included in the Mighty Bed is one set of half-rails and a standard foam mattress.

BAROS GUARDIAN ULTRA LOW HEIGHT BED (Available late 2009)

The Guardian Ultra Low Height Acute Care Bed has been designed to reduce the risk of patient falls by providing a care environment that is safe, secure and stable.

The ultra low height of 185mm (7.25") is the lowest height acute care bed available.

Concealment Cover

Converts any bed into a temporary concealment trolley.  A simple strap from the headboard to the footboard holds the cover clear of the body.  The cover fits over the headboard, footboard and side-rails. with an elasticated skirt creating a snug fit.  The cover can be used on most 3ft or 4ft beds, or the Baros Supreme Adjustable bed.

There is no longer a need to transfer a bariatric corpse to a trolley.  Using this simple, inexpensive discreet cover, you can transport bariatric corpses directly to the mortuary.
